72 | How Will Gene Editing Help Individuals with Muscular Dystrophy? | Strongest Hearts
Manage episode 361662197 series 3404254
Muscular dystrophy has a projected life span of just 15 to 30 years, so receiving a diagnosis for your child can feel like the world is ending, but there IS hope with gene editing.
Tania Barbera co-founded Strongest Hearts after years of misdiagnosis for her son, turning her family’s pain into a mission to improve the lives and life span of children affected. The foundation focuses on treatment through gene editing, and she does a great job explaining how its technology can help patients and better genetic testing.
Strongest Hearts is currently raising $645,00 to cover the next phase of human trials, and we’re partnering with them for the next Truman Charities event to help them reach their goal!
Tune in to find out what to expect from the May 13th event, including the awesome auction items up for grabs, and other ways you can get involved.
