Hello everyone and welcome to The Stiicky Eddie Podcast! I am your host, Chelsea.
21 episodes means we have been coming together on this show for just about 5 months now, and I cannot reiterate enough how much I appreciate everyone who's listening! What a treat this week- Kathryn Bennett is a remarkable person.
Kathryn was Utah's Strong Woman champion in 2020. She is world-record holding female strength athlete with an advanced health science degree, and was formerly a chemist at the USADA doping laboratory. Kathryn's advanced intellect afforded her the opportunity to graduate early and start college at age 16. This newfound freedom proved toxic for her, and she quickly became a full-blown alcoholic.
Listen in as Kathryn recounts (in her beautiful articulation) some of her most vulnerable and sad moments. Her commitment to her sober journey is another huge accomplishment and I am so in awe of her strength, physically and mentally. She is very honest, however, that this TAKES WORK. No one is perfect, and there will be setbacks. Don't beat yourself up- just keep trying and moving forward.
