“There's no end point to continue to keep learning and growing and shifting and changing.” -Kari O’Driscoll
Why do you have to go through all the pain and suffering when you could be having joy?
How do you oversee your children's physical and mental health?
In this episode, Kari will talk about building relationships with others and with ourselves. She will also discuss how to understand the adolescent stage and how to create new neural pathways around belonging and relationships, as well as how to build an identity within that.
Kari is an author, speaker, and founder of the SELF Project. Her work explores the often challenging dynamics of parents and children. Her latest book, Truth Has a Different Shape, is a memoir about growing up in the ’70s and ’80s as a caretaker-type in a family torn by divorce and the loss of a child, and how that shaped her own parenting, and ultimately her caregiving for my parents in their twilight years. Her work has appeared in a variety of places, such as Ms. Magazine, Healthline, and the Seattle Times Education Lab Ignite Storytelling event, as well as several anthologies and other books.
Check out these episode highlights:
