This was a ver interesting conversation. Corey has a background in hockey and now runs his own exercise instruction enterprise which encompasses not only older adults looking to improve and maintain functional ability but also aspiring young hockey players.
With the latter, Corey often has to deal with a myriad of issues which are common in sports, particularly at high levels, which, while widely accepted and commonly used, are often detrimental to young athletes, subjecting them to gross overtraining and the injury risk that comes from improper exercise methods as well as the overtraining itself.
Corey credits the book, Body by Science by Doug McGuff and John Little as being a real eye opener for him.
One of his mentors is none other than Michael Petrella of STG Strength and I can see how Michael and Corey will make each other better.
