What struck us profoundly was Michael's open-heartedness, even when faced with the uncertainty of his medical condition upon arriving at the hospital. Despite being in the advanced stages of blood cancer, he was able to find beauty in the nurses, staff, and even the treating physician. His connection with the physician was especially touching.

Dr. Rutledge has been an Associate Professor of Medicine and Oncologist in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, for 27 years.
