×Step back in time for an evening of music at SOIR NOIR: A Nightclub Confidential this April. Bringing the unmistakable energy and excitement of New York City’s nightlife to the heart of Central London, David Rhodes’ highly anticipated sell-out soirée will make its European debut at The Crazy Coqs this April. SOIR NOIR: A Nightclub Confidential invites audiences to step into a world of glamorous nostalgia, where the allure of private, exclusive parties hosted by the social elite in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s is reimagined for today’s audience. This immersive experience transports guests to an era of jazz, sophistication, and intimate musical gatherings, all set against the backdrop of New York and London’s most iconic nightclubs. Rhodes’ aspiration for SOIR NOIR: A Nightclub Confidential was to offer a musical oasis for audiences and himself, in order to escape the troubles in the world and strip life back to simpler times. During this creative process, Rhodes found his own voice by stepping into the shoes of the masterful composers and artists from the past, putting a new spin on the works that made them famous.…

ShoutOut joins the World Health Organisation & Brigstowe for WAD24: The world can end AIDS – if everyone’s rights are protected. With human rights at the centre, with communities in the lead, the world can end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. On 1 December, WHO joins partners and communities to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024 under the theme “Take the rights path: My health, my right!”. In this year’s campaign, WHO is calling on global leaders and citizens to champion the right to health by addressing the inequalities that hinder progress in ending AIDS. Although the WHO European Region has made progress in tackling HIV, significant challenges remain in identifying and treating cases, as well as preventing new infections in the first place. Ending AIDS requires that we prioritize and reach everyone who is living with, at risk for or affected by HIV, including men who have sex with men, transgender people, people who inject drugs, sex workers, and people in prisons and other closed settings, as well as their partners. Health is a human right Everyone should have access to the health services they need, including HIV prevention, treatment and care services when and where they need them. Protecting the right to health means ensuring that health care is available to everyone, without any discrimination, regardless of their HIV status, background, gender or where they live. Though progress has been made, challenges in access remain across the Region. Stigma and discrimination undermine the fight against AIDS People living with, at risk for or affected by HIV often experience a double burden of the disease itself and the stigma around it. Challenging stigma and discrimination as well as protecting everyone’s human rights are essential to achieving universal HIV care and breaking down barriers to access.…
On the slopes of Deer Valley in 2016 an Optometrist and A Movie Star's world collided, quite literally in a bizarre skiing incident. Seven years later their worlds collided again in a much-publicised court room show down. Linus Karp and Joseph Martin had the brilliant idea to immortalise this for the stage. And when we heard that the production was coming to Bristol, we sent Martin Spellacey over to the tobacco factory to chat to them about the show. Plus; Christmas food with The V Gang!…
Our Earth Week, community stations from all across the UK come together to talk about the climate crisis, and to celebrate life on earth. Throughout the week (which takes place in the week of the COP talks), as many shows as possible take part, and there are conversations going on all over the country about how the climate crisis is affecting our communities, and what we can do to try and stop it – or at least slow it down – and how we can adapt to it, and make ourselves more resilient. And we celebrate the very thing we’re trying to save: nature, and all of life within it, and ask ourselves: how can we help nature and wildlife to survive, and thrive'…
