Darlie and Darin Routier had been high school sweethearts and were married shortly after Darlie graduated. Soon after they married, their first son, Devon was born. A little over a year later, their second son, Damon was born and in 1995, they had their third and final son Drake. In 1996, Darin made a living selling computer parts, and Darlie helped him manage the finances for their business. They had the big, iconic Texas home and, based on all accounts from family, friends and neighbors, the Routiers had a close, loving family. But on the night of June 6th, 1996 this happy family of 5 was torn apart by an unimaginable act of violence.
