Ruby Ridge was the site of an eleven-day siege in 1992 in our own backyard that began on August 21, when US Marshals initiated action to apprehend and arrest Randy Weaver after his failure to appear on firearms charges.

Suspecting a conspiracy against him, Weaver refused to surrender and there began an 11-day siege that resulted in the loss of 3 members of the Weaver family and a close family friend.
