In this episode, I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Sarah Hill—an award-winning researcher, professor, and the brilliant author behind "This Is Your Brain On Birth Control" and her latest book, "The Period Brain."

As someone who’s been passionate about women’s health, hormones, and the power of understanding our cycles, this conversation was both eye-opening and affirming. Dr. Hill and I dove into the science behind how our hormones shape everything from our energy and mood to our relationships and even the way we see ourselves.

Key Moments:

  • How hormonal birth control can impact our psychology, motivation, and even who we’re attracted to.

  • The ways our menstrual cycle affects our brain, our energy, and our emotional landscape.

  • The real differences between the follicular and luteal phases, and why it’s so important to honor our shifting needs throughout the month.

  • My own journey with cycle tracking, perimenopause, and learning to listen to my body.

  • Why it’s so empowering to become an expert in your own body—and how you can start.

  • Dr. Hill’s practical advice for supporting your body with nutrition, rest, and the basics (that so often get overlooked).

  • The importance of self-advocacy and having the language to talk to your healthcare providers about what you’re experiencing.

Let’s dive in!
