Life is satiated by a myriad of experiences. Similarly the mind and body need to experience a variety of tastes to be satiated, content and healthy. This isn’t something we hear a lot, but if you delve deeper to know why, it makes a lot of sense. Each taste that we experience and include in our diet is actually essential to regulate and healthily manage the functions of our mind and body. Together these tastes, give us mental and physical contentment that are truly essential for happiness, growth and health. Here is one of the simplest explanations that actually makes it practical to practice what I’m preaching.

Here’s what this episode will tell you:

  1. The purpose of the 6 tastes categorised in Ayurveda.
  2. How a blend of the 6 flavors can ensure all round well being.
  3. Which food items fall under each of the 6 taste categories.
  4. How each taste helps the body.
  5. How overindulging in each taste can cause health issues.
  6. Why paying attention to whether you are including all of them in your meals can help.
  7. How tiny changes in your diet can give you long term health and well being without resorting to prescription drugs.
