A Social Media Outage Can Inspire You To Work On Your Business
Manage episode 307329360 series 2906631
“When was the last time that you devoted a day to working on your business, and how often do you do that?”
—Dee Boswell-Buck
I bet you remember what you were doing on 4th October, 2021.
This was the fateful day when Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp went completely down.
Like many other business owners working in the online space, my first reaction was to panic! However, I soon realized that this was an opportunity to work on my business — rather than in it.
My team used the social media outage to review, refresh, and rework our social media strategy to align with platform trends and make sure we are engaging with our clients and providing what they need (and want).
From brainstorming alternative ways to show up online, updating our branding, and scheduling a day each week to switch off from socials and work going forward, this time was exactly what we needed to take a step back and refocus!
My business has grown and evolved so much in the last three years, and it was definitely time for a change! When was the last time that you devoted a day to working on your business?
Listen to this episode of Strategize Your Business Online to find out why you shouldn’t wait until the next social media outage to make time to work on your brand, content, and engagement strategy!
(And make sure you have a pen handy, because this episode is full of tips and tricks!)
In this episode, you’ll discover:
- How to not only repurpose video content across your online platforms, from Facebook to LinkedIn, but why this is a great tool to show your personality and practice building up to live videos if you’re not comfortable in front of the camera
- Why you should show up on socials a minimum of 20 times per month (on each of your platforms) and map your posting schedule using Google calendar
- That inviting questions from your audience online allows you to shine as the go-to expert in your field, establishes trust to build relationships, and allows you to find out what your clients really want (in their own words)
