Steve Hall spent his early years in Massachusetts before moving with his family to Atlanta in the mid-'90s. Following high school, Steve graduated from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 2006. After working at a Finger Lakes winery during his undergraduate years, Steve followed his passion for wine and began his career with E&J Gallo after graduation, selling wine in Boston and Chicago. Steve's career then took a slight pivot into the tech world before he enrolled at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, to obtain his MBA. After completing graduate school in 2011, Steve moved with his wife Tasha to Indianapolis, where Tasha had grown up.

In the years following, Steve led a team of marketing professionals as the Director of Customer Acquisition for One Click Ventures in Greenwood, Indiana, before co-founding Tinker Coffee with his brother-in-law Jeff Johnson in 2014. Tinker Coffee has experienced steady and profitable growth in its first 10 years of business, and now operates 7 cafes in the greater Indianapolis area along with robust wholesale, e-commerce, catering, and technical services departments. In 2022, Food & Wine Magazine named Tinker Coffee the "Best Coffee in Indiana," and the company continues to pursue excellence by staying true to its founding mission: creating extraordinary coffee experiences that educate, inspire, and bring people together.
