How to Ace Your End-of-Year Review
Manage episode 381095721 series 3386174
In this episode, I'm sharing an excerpt from my recent live workshop: How to Ace Your End-of-Year Review.
(Please note the live role-play portion of the workshop has been edited out to protect the volunteers.)
You'll learn:
- Why it matters to frame your self-advocacy as an act of service that benefits both you and your organization
- What to say and in what order, when you use proven negotiation strategies, like articulating your value and future potential and asking for a pay raise, promotion, or resources
- What three most common pushback you can anticipate when you're missing the "sweet spot" and how to ensure you sidestep them
- How to get more curious, not furious when you do encounter anything less than a committed yes, so you can guide the conversation to creative problem solving and follow-through
- Two evidence-based ways to calm yourself down ahead of or during a high-stakes conversation, so you can think most clearly and be most effective in your workplace negotiation
