Emotional reasoning is a cognitive distortion in which people believe that their emotions are accurate reflections of reality. Narcissists are particularly prone to emotional reasoning because they have a strong need to maintain a positive self-image. They often interpret events and other people's behavior in a way that confirms their own superiority and importance.
We will dive into the narc's use of emotional reasoning and see how they lack whole object relations and object constancy. The narcissist is emotionally arrested and here, we look at how you can free yourself through knowledge of the NPD individual's emotional reasoning trap though knowledge.
