Mental Health Stigma in Med School w/ Tyler Beauchamp MS4 Freeze Frame

We spoke to Tyler Beauchamp, a fourth year medical student at the Medical College of Georgia, about his book Freeze Frame. Freeze Frame explores the mental health of a teenager who slips in and out of reality during his PTSD episodes. We used this book to explore topics of hallucinations, anxiety, social isolation, as they relate to adolescent and student mental health. We also discussed very important topics of medical student mental health as it relates to residency applications, self-disclosure, judgement of others, fear of seeking treatment, and stigma.
