In this episode we explore Cuba’s folkloric poetry, the Punto Guajiro, through a few verses written by my cousin José Luis Rodríguez Martínez, who lives in Fomento, Cuba. Punto is the poetic voice of our Cuban farmers. It consists of singings an improvised or learned stanza of ten octameter verse lines, with a rhyming scheme accompanied by string instruments.
