287. Kathrynne's Sickness & Hospital Stay
Manage episode 462800107 series 2436042
We unexpectedly had to take another hiatus recently due to family illness, and Jesse and I are here today to share the story! What was supposed to be a peaceful start to 2025 turned into a whirlwind of illness and hospital visits. From a delayed start to the year to dealing with a series of unexpected health scares, it was truly so much to have to handle!
Listen as we recount how things took a sudden turn when one of our kids, Kathrynne, became seriously ill with the flu. The situation worsened when Micah, too, faced breathing problems, leading us to the ER. The stress of trying to manage it all while feeling under the weather myself was truly overwhelming, but we pressed on, making tough decisions such as rushing Kathrynne to urgent care and later discovering that her flu had escalated into something much more serious.
Our journey continued with a series of hospital visits, including a critical stay in a step-down unit. I discuss the gut-wrenching moments of being away from the kids, trusting my instincts to get them the care that they needed, and the emotional toll that it took on our family.
This episode of the show is a raw and honest reflection on the challenges that we faced, the importance of trusting your gut as a parent, and how we found strength in each other and our community! Join us as we share the highs, the lows, and everything in between during one of the toughest starts to the year that we have ever had!
