Welcome to an all new episode of the Nonprofit Connect podcast, brought to you by Rogue Creatives, designed to connect with and learn from all sorts of people within the nonprofit hemisphere. I’m your host, Matt Barnes. Let’s get started, shall we?

In this episode, I have a lovely chat with Tamra Ryan, CEO at Women’s Bean Project, an employment social enterprise with a mission to uplift women through employment and empower them to be change-makers in their own lives. As the CEO, Tamra is their visionary leader, providing strategic vision for the team, including the staff and board of directors.

She is also an Economic Mobility Fellow at Common Sense Institute Colorado, and was previously the Interim CEO at Social Enterprise Alliance; a Senior Account Manager at Linkshare Corporation; and the Director of Marketing and Business Development at ArcVentures, Inc.

So sit back, relax, and listen to us cover such topics as:
  • The profound impact of changing a woman’s life
  • Tamra’s unexpected origin story into the nonprofit sector
  • Understanding and telling the larger story of your organization
  • Transferable lessons from the private sector
  • The uncomfortableness of creating a persona for yourself
