Today's episode features Shirley Buck, a life coach and author who shares with us a bit of her life story, along with plenty of advice.
To start, she was born to deaf parents, which made her childhood a bit more difficult, as she served as their interpreter, and had to take on more responsibility than a child normally would.
There was abuse in the household as well, including a confrontation with her mother that was extremely traumatic. For years, Shirley struggled with the use of negative de-stressors and coping methods to bury her trauma. Eventually, she connected with God, and started to turn her life around.
Together, Shirley and I cover a variety of topics, including different ways of dealing with abuse and trauma, as well as how they affect us personally, ranging from our normal behavior to our relationships.
