Environmental toxicity has been hypothesised to have an impact on your genes for 3 generations. Which means that the food shortages your grandparents went through during WW2 is still effecting how your body reacts to stress and toxic load. Then add the golden age of smoking in the 60's and more recent environmental issues and you start to see why everyone has a peanut allergy and gluten is causing the problems we are seeing now but not in previous generations.
