“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, those he redeemed from trouble and gathered in from the lands.” - Psalm 107:2
Another word for redeem is restore. An important part of our healing and restoration includes the sharing of our stories.
Remembering where we came from helps us remember where we are going and why. Sharing our stories of redemption and restoration both centers us in hope and gratitude and encourages others who are facing their own challenges and struggles.
I’ve been through the pain and disappointment of business failure and divorce. I know the pain of parenting when our best efforts are not enough. I know what it is when your place of refuge is anything but. I know what it is to struggle to make and keep healthy choices.
I also know how God was with me in all those times. How I was given the strength to keep going. How I was brought to the places and surrounded by people who made my redemption possible. I know how God brought good from the bad.
I know God can do the same for you, that in God we can do the same for each other.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Share your story of hope.
