Episode 26. Embracing Life Chapters

Lately a recurring theme I’ve had pop up in conversation is the one of life chapters. Today I wanted to do an episode on embracing the current chapter you are in, and savouring the moment, because blink and you might miss it!
Throughout life, your focuses and priorities change. For example, throughout school, your focuses may surround sport/art/academics/friendship groups etc… but when you’re in your 20’s, 30’s and 40’s, your focuses can become more career or family based. Within all these life chapters, focuses change, adapt and grow. Sometimes things might feel right, and at other times, they might feel like they’re spiralling out of control. I feel like it all comes back to 'controlling the controllables' in that moment. It is important to embrace that moment as much as possible, and know that everything is happening for us, not to us.
Something I always come back to when reflecting on both good and bad times is that everything is happening for us, not to us. This thought totally shifts my mindset from a negative ‘why me’ state to a ‘this is meant for me and there is a reason why this is happening’ mindset. This then allows me to consider ‘what can I learn from this, and how can I implement things to continue to improve and grow’.
