At times being your true #self can come at a cost. Down through the years and even to the present, many individuals feel that climbing the #corporateladder to success mean presenting themselves as a #professional. However, more often than not, the meaning of #professionalism is often connected with assimilating into the majority. There is an #expectation (an impossible expectation), of needing to be white while inhabiting a Black body and embracing your black culture. Are we really supportive in #corporations and #organizations of #diversity, #inclusion, and #equity? How can we rethink the #systems and expectations that are in place and refuse to lend to people just being themselves?
