When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. God's healing is not limited to physical ailments but also extends to emotional and mental well-being. God can bring comfort, peace, and healing to those who are struggling with emotional pain, trauma, anxiety, depression, or any other form of psychological distress. God's healing also encompasses spiritual restoration and reconciliation with God. By seeking God and seeking His forgiveness, individuals can experience a renewed relationship with Him. Spiritual healing involves finding forgiveness for past mistakes and sins, experiencing inner peace, and growing in spiritual maturity through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Psalm 103:2-3: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases." If you have faith in God, you can trust that He is in control of all things in your life. The Bible encourages believers to put their trust in God, knowing that He cares for His children and has a plan for their lives. Worrying does not change the outcome of a situation or solve problems. It drains our energy and mental well-being, leaving us less equipped to handle the challenges at hand. Instead of worrying, it is more constructive to focus on prayer, problem-solving, seeking wisdom, and taking positive action. The Scriptures provide numerous promises and assurances from God. For example, Matthew 6:25-34 reminds us that God knows our needs and promises to provide for us. Philippians 4:6-7 assures us that when we bring our concerns to God in prayer, His peace will guard our hearts and minds. By meditating on these promises, we can find comfort and strength in difficult times. Worry often stems from a lack of trust and faith. It can indicate that we are relying solely on our own abilities and understanding, rather than acknowledging God's sovereignty. Trusting in God means surrendering our worries and anxieties to Him, believing that He is capable of handling our concerns and working things out for our good. Matthew 6:25-27 (NIV): "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. When Jesus said, "You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14), He was inviting His disciples, and by extension, all believers, to be a source of light and hope in a world filled with darkness Being the light of the world means reflecting and sharing God's truth. It involves living according to the principles and teachings found in God's Word, the Bible, and allowing that truth to shine through your words and actions. Being the light of the world means directing people's attention to Jesus Christ. It involves sharing His message of salvation, demonstrating His love and grace, and inviting others to experience the transformative power of a relationship with Him. Matthew 5:14-16: "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." Ephesians 5:8: "For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." The act of giving to God holds great significance in the lives of believers. It is an expression of worship, faith, gratitude, and obedience. Giving to God is an act of worship, acknowledging His sovereignty and lordship over our lives. It reflects a posture of surrender, recognizing that everything we have comes from God and belongs to Him. Giving to God demonstrates trust in His provision. It reflects our belief that God is the ultimate source of all blessings and that He will take care of our needs as we prioritize Him. While giving should not be driven solely by a desire for personal gain, the Bible does mention that God blesses those who give with a cheerful heart. Luke 6:38 states, "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Matthew 6:24: "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." The Bible emphasizes that God is the ultimate model of forgiveness. God's forgiveness is seen as unconditional, merciful, and abundant. Scriptures such as Psalm 103:12 and Micah 7:18-19 highlight God's forgiveness, describing how He removes our sins from us and casts them into the depths of the sea. The Bible commands believers to forgive others just as God has forgiven them. Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:14-15 that if we forgive others, God will also forgive us, but if we withhold forgiveness, we cannot expect to receive forgiveness from God.
