This week, Molly and Jim discuss whether it's time for the internet to be treated as a utility, i.e. regulated by the US government (like electric service, water, USPS, etc). In the months since the pandemic shutdown, both adults and school kids have become much more dependent on a fast and stable internet connection to accomplish their daily tasks, whether working or schooling from home.
This has exposed a wide disparity in haves/have-nots, and we talk about whether it's time to mandate that access to broadband service should be available and affordable to all citizens of the US.
