Spring Episode 2
Manage episode 410827067 series 3567002
In this episode, we talk about -
- Garden tasks this week - Sowing Root Crops
- Grouping your vegetables into ‘families’ in order to create a 4 Bed, Crop Rotation Plan. This method helps prevent the build-up of pests and diseases in the soil, keeps your soil healthy, and in turn each ‘family’ prepares the soil for the next rotation
- Perennial Vegetable Beds - crops that stay in the same garden bed each year.
- We look at the dreaded Spring Stinging Nettles - they are wonderfully nutritious in many recipes
Book of the week - New Zealand Gardener Annual Garden Diary - An annual ‘must have’.
Glossary - Crop rotation
