This Week in Politics: A thumbs-down on the un-pause

Gov. Kathy Hochul plans to restart the MTA's congestion pricing plan to toll vehicles entering Manhattan south of 60th Street. The governor is lowering the toll rate from $15–which had gotten approval by the state and federal government–down to $9 dollars.

A lot of transit advocates are celebrating her decision to 'un-pause' the program, but there has also been a lot of criticism – especially from elected officials who represent the boroughs outside of Manhattan, and the suburbs where a lot of people rely on cars for their daily commute.

New York State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton represents parts of Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn and has been a vocal opponent. She joins Weekend Edition host David Furst to discuss the revival of congestion pricing.
