- Missouri murders death row inmate Marcellus Williams after evidence was found that he was innocent.
- New York City Mayor Eric Adams is charged with five federal counts of bribery, fraud, and illegal campaign donations.
- World's longest-serving death row inmate - an 88-year-old former boxer in Japan - is acquitted in 1966 murders.
- Maggie Smith - Oscar-winning star of stage and screen - dies aged 89.
- Israel kills Hezbollah leader Hassan Nazrallah amongst a Friday bombing campaign.
