Good morning, Washington DC! I'm your weather anchor, and boy, do we have a winter wonderland brewing today!
We're under a Winter Weather Advisory, so buckle up for some serious snow action. Today's forecast is like a meteorological rollercoaster - we're starting with rain that's going to transform into heavy snow after 2 in the afternoon. Expect temperatures hovering near 38 degrees Fahrenheit with northeastern winds picking up to 17 miles per hour. Those winds might gust up to 24 miles per hour, and we're looking at potentially 1 to 3 inches of snow accumulation.
Tonight, the snow continues its performance, potentially heavy until 7 in the evening. Temperatures will drop dramatically to around 20 degrees Fahrenheit, with northwest winds dancing between 8 to 16 miles per hour.
Martin Luther King Day is looking crisp and sunny, but cold - we're talking a high of just 24 degrees Fahrenheit with west winds up to 18 miles per hour. Wind chill values could dip to negative 1 degree.
The rest of the week looks like a winter's greatest hits album - mostly sunny days, occasional clouds, and temperatures ranging from the teens to low 30s.
