Good morning, weather watchers! Your friendly neighborhood meteorologist here with the scoop on what Mother Nature has in store for Washington, District of Columbia this week.
Today's looking like a crisp winter's day with plenty of sunshine. We'll see temperatures climbing to a chilly 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds will start from the west at around 5 to 8 miles per hour, then shift to the south in the afternoon. So grab that light jacket and enjoy the bright skies!
Tonight, things get a bit more interesting. We're expecting increasing clouds and temperatures dipping down to around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. A gentle south wind will be keeping you company at 3 to 6 miles per hour.
Saturday brings some potential precipitation drama. There's a slight chance of rain and snow in the morning, transitioning to a 30 percent chance of rain later in the day. Temperatures will nudge up to 47 degrees Fahrenheit with a south wind dancing at 6 to 8 miles per hour.
Hold onto your hats for Sunday because snow is likely after 7 in the morning. Temperatures will struggle to reach 34 degrees Fahrenheit, with a north wind blowing 6 to 10 miles per hour. We've got a 60 percent chance of snowfall, so winter is definitely making its presence known!
Martin Luther King Day looks crisp and clear with temperatures plummeting to a frosty 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Monday night will be even colder, dropping to a bone-chilling 6 degrees.
The early part of next week continues the winter theme with partly sunny skies and temperatures hovering around the low 20s. We're talking seriously cold conditions that'll make you want to cuddle up with some hot cocoa.
