Today in Austin, Texas, we're looking at a sunny day ahead with a high near 97 degrees. It might feel warmer though, with heat index values reaching as high as 102. The wind will start calm and then shift to east-southeast at about 5 miles per hour later on.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with a low around 76. The east wind will be around 5 miles per hour initially, becoming calm in the evening.
As we head into Monday, there's a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 pm. Clouds will increase with a high near 94, and the heat index could go up to 102 again.
Looking ahead, Tuesday brings a similar chance of showers and storms in the afternoon, a high near 96, and calm winds.
If you're making Wednesday plans, keep in mind a slight 20 percent chance of storms in the afternoon, with a high near 97 and southeast winds at 5 miles per hour.
By Thursday and Friday, we're looking at more sunshine with highs around 97, but there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms on both days.
