Eisner- and Hugo- Award-winning writer Kelly Sue DeConnick got her start in comics adapting translations of manga on series like Slam Dunk, Black Cat, & Fruits Basket. She transitioned to writing her own comics in the mid-2000s. She is best known for her work on Captain Marvel, which saw Carol Danvers transition from Ms. Marvel to Captain Marvel. Her run is the inspiration for the MCU film. She also developed a following for her creator-owned work, such as Pretty Deadly and Bitch Planet. In addition to writing comics, Kelly Sue develops for television with her husband/partner Matt Fraction as Milkfed Criminal Masterminds and co-founded Good Trouble Productions. She recently wrote the stage show Awakening, which you can catch at The Wynn Las Vegas.
