ep399: Top 100 Women-Directed Films of 2010s Popcorn Punchout
Manage episode 365109401 series 3111919
The Video Monsters are turning to Letterboxd for a little help with this month’s topic. We’re going to cover three films from their list, “The 2010s—Top Women-Directed Feature Films” (which you can view in full here). We will decide which three films we’re going to focus on with a maddeningly addictive game we like to call the POPCORN PUNCHOUT! (which, by the way, we have been playing for a full year now, so happy anniversary, Popcorn Punchout!) Nathan, Dan, Eric and special guest Robert Woods (AN IDEAL HOST) will use our not-quite patented Video Rack Attack Bracket technology to let our votes (and a big bucket of chaos) decide what films we’ll discuss over the next few episodes. From LITTLE WOMEN to CERTAIN WOMEN to WONDER WOMEN (and Professor Marston I guess) all the way to the LADYs BIRD and… ON FIRE… we have an incredible lineup of films from extraordinarily talented female filmmakers. It’s time to find out which three make it to the end of this month’s POPCORN PUNCHOUT! If you enjoy this episode, come join the Video Monsters crew on Discord - be a part of the discussion and listen in live when we record our episodes!! Go to linktree.com/videomonsterpod for the link to Discord, our socials, the most recent Popcorn Punchout poll (when active), and occasionally some highlighted episodes!! Video Monsters is brought to you by the Chattanooga Film Festival and Central Cinema in Knoxville, TN.
