Palm Sunday (Mark 11:1-11)
Before the foundation of the world, God, in His love, expressed His sovereignty by having a real-life plan. A plan to invite all who would believe in Jesus to be set apart and to live blameless in His sight. God’s remarkable compassion and favor draws all Believers to Christ to be delivered from judgment and given eternal life through faith. This salvation is not through human efforts, but it is the undeserved, gracious gift of God. Ephesians 1-4

Palm Sunday is the day Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, just days before His death, burial, and resurrection. Matthew 21-28

Christ Jesus marked the start of what is called “Passion Week,” with His final seven days of earthly ministry. Palm Sunday represents the “beginning of the end” of Jesus’ work in His earthly body.

Jesus commanded His disciples to retrieve the donkey that was created by God for Jesus to enter Jerusalem that faithful day. The disciples obeyed Jesus.

The 500+ year old prophecy found in Zechariah 9:9 was completely fulfilled by Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday. Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11; Luke 19:28-44; John 12:12-19

When Jesus came the first time to Earth, He came as a baby born in a stable and laid in a manger in Bethlehem, just as God caused to be prophesied by the prophets hundreds of years before. Isaiah 9:6; Micah 5:2

Zechariah’s prophecy in verses 10 and following is still a future prophecy when in God’s timing, Jesus will reign after defeating His enemies at the Second Coming.

In His first coming, Jesus was the suffering Servant. In His second coming, Jesus will be the conquering King. In His first coming, Jesus arrived in the most humble of circumstances. In His second coming, Jesus will arrive with the armies of Heaven at His side. Revelation 19:11-16

On Palm Sunday, the people cried out in praise and honor to Jesus, just as was prophesied by King David and Prophet Isaiah. Psalm 118:26; Isaiah 56:7

Have you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

Are you following Him faithfully each day?
