We must seek to grow in God, but in order to grow in God we have to search the scriptures, read, pray, and spend time with God each day. We cannot be transformed by the renewing of our minds if we remain in the old. The scripture teaches us to put off the old man with his deeds. We must allow God to teach us how to become a new creature in Him. This takes place when you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
