The gift of caring for children in foster care is a gift that keeps on giving. This interview with my parents, John and Lynn McLarty, and their remarkable journey of fostering over 100 children will warm your soul. Mom wanted to start an orphanage but God had a different plan. Along came a young girl named Beth and my sister, Taunya, convinced them to become foster parents so she would have a home. My parent’s joint desire to help Beth led to them becoming foster parents and providing many children a loving Christian home. They, along with a close family friend, Lavenski Smith, who later served on the Arkansas Supreme Court and now serves as a Federal Judge on the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, became the most successful recruiters of foster families for three years straight in northwest Arkansas. Every foster child in their home heard the Gospel and several accepted the gift of salvation. Ultimately, fostering led to the adoption of my four younger siblings.Their story is funny and touching and based on the truth of God’s Word, will be multiplied for generations to come!
