The Talking Point

This past weekend, journalists were recognized for their story-telling and holding authorities to account on the behalf of the marginalized communities. Our next guest has been bestowed with the Journalist of the Year award for his poignant work in two features: (1) gold mining widows of miners how they face the battle with trauma and poverty.He has also been recognized for his work on (2) the quest for healing justice. At the centre of his story-telling, he brings the stories of people outside of urban centres and seeking to hold authorities accountable on behalf of the voiceless in marginalized communities. He has been awarded the CNN African Journalist Award for his coverage of the HIV/AIDS pandemic (2010) and the Marikana massacre (2013).
