Hello everyone and welcome to episode 82 of the Still Spinning Podcast. On today's episode we discuss uninvited kids, yummy snacks, food robots and a lack of chain restaurants. If you like what you hear, please like us and subscribe! If you REALLY like what you hear, consider becoming a Spinner. All the information you could ever want on the podcast can be found on our website at stillspinningpodcast.com. First off, let's talk about uninvited kids. If you planned an event, invited your BIL and SIL and they decided to bring their grandchildren, what would you do? Is it ok to just drag the kids along wherever you go? Do kids like star gazing? So many questions and we have some thoughts. Dan loves ketchup chips. There, I said it. But recently something has hit the market that he likes even more. What could it be? A delicious snack that has ALL the flavors? I am intrigued and would love to hear more. Chicago has a food robot delivery system! This leads to a lot of questions and some opinions from our hosts. What is to stop someone from just stealing the robot?? Dan has seen these little guys in action in Madison but Nicole has never seen such a thing. Dan explains how this is only a step in the removal of humans from the workforce. And finally, there is a state capital in the US that does not have a Starbucks OR a McDonald's!! Who knew?? Find out what state it is and why they do not exist there. Also find out how many states Dan has NOT been too and see if Nicole can guess them all. All of this and oh so much more on this episode of the Still Spinning Podcast.

Buckle up, folks, because episode 88 of the Still Spinning Podcast with Dan and Nicole is a wild, cranky ride you won’t want to miss! Heads-up: Dan’s voice is doing some freaky stuff—like, not quite the Barry White-Paul Harvey mashup that tanked Monday’s live show (RIP), but still weird enough to make you go, “Huh?!” Meanwhile, Nicole’s in a mood so sour she could curdle milk just by glaring at it. Together, they’re serving up a vibe that screams, “Get off our lawn, you whippersnappers!”—and we’re here for it. First up, kid birthday parties just got a whole lot crazier. Picture this: you’re RSVPing, wrapping a gift for the little birthday prince or princess, and—BAM—now you’re supposed to bring presents for their siblings too?! Yep, “sibling gifts” are a thing now, because apparently no one’s allowed to feel left out. Dan and Nicole are like, “What in the actual heck is this nonsense?” Next, let’s talk airplane horror stories. We’ve all been there—trapped next to the stinky guy, the screaming toddler, or the chatterbox who thinks you’re their new BFF. But hold onto your tray tables, because a couple flying to India just raised the bar on mid-flight misery. Spoiler: it’s a doozy, and Dan and Nicole are cackling through the chaos. And for the grand finale, a college kid’s suing her high school because—get this—she can’t read or write. Yep, she graduated (with honors!), snagged a scholarship, and waltzed into college, only to realize she’s functionally illiterate. OH... and she was an HONOR STUDENT! Cue the collective facepalm. You can’t script drama this bananas! So, grab your popcorn and dive into episode 88—it’s a grumpy, hilarious mess, and we’re loving every second. Want more Still Spinning shenanigans? Welcome to episode #87 of the Still Spinning Podcast, we are so glad you could join us! Gen Z never ceases to amaze us with the BS they pull. The newest thing is called Career Catfishing where they apply for a job, interview, get hired and then just NEVER SHOW UP. A staggering percentage of Gen Z have done this and Dan and Nicole just cannot wrap their heads around it. They also chat about being fired and how trusting some radio jobs have been with Dan. Is creativity a good thing when talking about criminal punishment? Dan and Nicole are not so sure this judge is on the right track. A judge is sentencing shoplifters at Walmart (all one word) to wash cars in the parking lot. What do you think, a good idea or no? Scams abound in the world today and we issue some warnings! The toll road folks are NOT texting you because of missed tolls - SCAM. Those cheap concert tickets some stranger can "no longer use" - SCAM. Facbook threatening to shut down your business page - SCAM. General rule of life in 2025 - SCAM! All of this and a little something about Girl Scout Cookies in today's episode. Despite our promise to you, we are sorry to say you will probably learn something (Nicole blames Dan for that) today. Check out the website at stillspinningpodcast.com for even more information on the podcast, merch and how to become a Spinner.…
Welcome to episode 86 of the Still Spinning Podcast. We are delighted you could join us! If you have not see the video of the whale swallowing and then spitting out the kayaker, you simply must. It is really unreal. We chat about kayaking, the likelihood of this happening, if this guy should ever get into the water again and so much more on this topic. Valentine's Day was last week and Spinners got special, holiday content! You could have but you are not a Spinner, it might be time to think about some of your life choices. ANYWAY, there were shelters and zoos all over the US who had some VERY fun fundraisers they were doing. We chatted about the fundraisers, if Dan could have participated and somehow started talking about feminine hygiene products. You really never know where we will head! Surveillance pricing is a real thing and it sucks and should scare you. Dan breaks it down for us and we chat about how it all works and the implications. And finally if you have a lottery ticket, make sure you check to see if it is a winner!! A person in Arkansas nearly threw out a $100K winner. Check out our website, stillspinningpodcast.com to see how you can buy merch, become a Spinner and listen to old episodes. We will see you all next week!…
Hello everyone, we are BACK! Nicole was gone last week so we missed an episode, but the Spinners did get some bonus content so if you ever needed a reason to become a Spinner, we think that is it! You can find out how by visiting stillspinningpodcast.com. Nicole was gone because she was on a CRUISE! That is right, a cruise! She fills everyone in on what her experience was like from boarding the ship to the all-inclusive drink package. Overall, she had a blast because of the people she was with and a special shout out to her Aunt Jean for sending over some cruise essentials, all which came in handy on the boat. Did you know you will still feel like you are moving for DAYS after you get off the boat? Nicole sure did not and so the tale of motion sickness carried on even after disembarking. The Super Bowl just happened, the Superb Owl for those who know, and Nicole and Dan HAVE to talk about the game and most importantly the commercials. Dan did not watch, and tells us all why, so it was up to Nicole to provide the best and weirdest trends in the commercials. All in all, not the best year for them but certainly not the worst. Lots of facial hair and AI ads, those seemed to be the most common threads. We hope you enjoyed today's podcast and we look forward to seeing you again next week! Do not forget to like our FB page, our YouTube Channel and even our Instagram account.…
Hello and welcome to episode #84 of the Still Spinning Podcast. We will be OFF next week, FYI, so try not to miss us too much. As derailed as we can get, this week is a real doozy. Nicole is going on a cruise next week, which is why we will be off. But she is concerned about the whole cruise thing so we start talking about that. That leads us down a path of travel, food ordering and why Dan wants to switch back to only using cash. Bad customer service also rears its head (of course) and Panera gets name-checked. Speaking of travel, Spirit Airlines has announced they are redoing their passenger code of conduct and it seems to us that a lot of these things should just be common sense. There is one rule Dan is not so sure they have to enforce and it has to do with clothing covering a certain body part. I am sure you can figure out what it is. Thanks for joining us for week 84! Be sure to check out our website for information on how to become a Spinner, how to get some cool merch and to listen to some back episodes.…
Hello everyone and welcome to episode #83 of the Still Spinning Podcast. We appreciate you tuning in! Weather is bonkers all over the country and we kick things off by talking about the cold, the snow in Texas and why you should never get out of your car when you are in a multi-car pile-up. Or maybe you should! Any way you look at it, winter blows. "Soup you can suck on" is not a phrase I ever thought I would type but here we are. Progresso Soup is "honoring" soup month by releasing a hard candy in chicken noodle soup flavor. Dan thinks he would like it, which leads him down a path of using a throat spray live on the air. Nicole would try it but also was gagging so who knows how that would turn out. If you got a winning lottery ticket as a gift, would you share with the person who gave it? This is our moral dilemma today and we discuss the pros cons and why Nicole never gives lottery tickets as gifts. Diner etiquette time! Nicole came across a story about someone who expressed this as a truth "if someone invites you out to a meal, you should never order anything that is more expensive than the person who invited you." She had never heard this "rule" so she asked Dan to weigh in on whether this was really a thing or not. Thanks so much for tuning in! We will be back live on Youtube, Facebook and Instagram next Monday at 7 PM CT. To get your fix until then, you can find all previous episodes on our website stillspinningpodcast.com. Have a great week!…

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Welcome to episode of 81 of The Still Spinning Podcast. We missed you all during our break, we hope you all had a nice holiday season. Dan kicks off by sharing a story of a "unique" request he got from someone trying to hire him to do comedy. It is a doozy and a request he had never heard before, and he has been in the field for over 30 years! Remember writing checks? Well younger generations do NOT and this leads to a fun interaction with Dan and his nephew. And quite honestly, the nephew has some valid points about checks and how odd they are. We discuss. The work-from-home days are ending for a lot of people. The story in today's episode is about Amazon and their employees going back for 5 days a week. We talk about work from home, the pandemic and so much more in this segment. And we do not necessarily agree on a few things like productivity. Whose side are YOU on? And lastly, there is a story of a lonely boat, washed ashore in Milwaukee. Do we talk about how it got there? Sort of. Is the point about that? NO. It is about these people who own a BOAT looking for handouts from the average person to get it unstuck and they started a gofundme. THE NERVE. All of this and oh so much more on episode 81 of the Still Spinning Podcast. Check out our website at stillspinningpodcast.com for more info on merch, previous episodes, and how YOU can become a sponsor (Spinner) of the podcast.…
Happy New Year from Dan and Nicole! In this lively episode of Still Spinning , our hosts reflect on how they rang in the new year. (Spoiler: only one of them partied hard—can you guess who?) Next, they dive into a convo about how easy it is to just steal food from the to-go section of restaurants that offer order-ahead service. Have you EVER been asked to prove that you ordered food? We haven't. The conversation takes a nostalgic turn as they discuss Amazon’s controversial decision to cut a key scene from It’s a Wonderful Life . They explore the ripple effects of altering a beloved classic and compare it to the uncut (and somewhat problematic) moments in other holiday films like Holiday Inn . How far should we go when modernizing older movies? Finally, they tease their return to live episodes starting Monday. Tune in for laughs, insights, and the perfect way to kick off 2025! Available now on all major platforms.…
Hello and welcome to episode 79 of the Still Spinning Podcast. We hate to start off by breaking your heart BUT there will be NO podcast next week as Dan and Nicole are both traveling. So sorry! We will try to get something out to our Spinners so now is a good time to sign up. We kick things off with a story that affects us all - the FBI came out and said we should STOP using our phones to text. WTH did we do before texting?? They do offer some "safer" options. Tune in to hear what they are. Sorry, this might be a bit educational for you all. Is it ok to walk around your house barefoot?? NO is the short answer. One of the hosts does walk around without shoes in the house and one does. Think you know which is which?? The new speed record was broken in Iowa and it is SCARY. We discuss the driving habits of both Dan and Nicole and they share some speeding stories of their own. And finally, Chris Rock storms out of a private party where he was performing. Why, you may ask? Well we discuss the likely reason and share some thoughts/insight into our own performing and how we handle things like this. All of this an oh so much more! Want to become a Spinner or listen to some old episodes? Check out our website stillspinningpodcast.com for all of that PLUS you could purchase some merch for all your holiday gift giving needs.…
Hello everyone and welcome to episode 78 of the Still Spinning Podcast. In today's episode we kick things off by talking about a Midwest winter common occurrence, lake effect snow. If you do not know that that is, you will learn about it (so sorry about that) and hear about some areas of the US that already have FOUR FEET of snow because of it. Some personal stories of a huge blizzard in Chicago and a drive across Michigan during a massive whiteout are part of the package today as well. Makes you feel cold! If you give a child (not your own) your phone to play with and it gets broken, who should pay to have it fixed? That is topic number 2 on today's episode. There is always more to the story and Dan and Nicole try to uncover some of the underlying issues in the original story but the verdict remains the same. Tune in to hear what it is. And finally, are you a weekly show watcher OR do you wait until all episodes have been released and then binge? Dan and Nicole discuss both options and which one they tend to follow. There is also a rant and discussion about spoilers in the headlines of news stories as well as a time frame for when spoilers should be allowed. All of this and so much more on episode 78! You can learn more about us and the podcast by visiting stillspinningpodcast.com .…
Hello and welcome everyone to week 77 of the Still Spinning Podcast. Just an FYI, the next month or so is going to be a little bonkers with our schedules so keep your ears open for when/where our live stream(s) will be. We kick things off and spend most of this episode with a story about one of our hosts and a ride-share that gets into an accident. First off, Dan did not know about all the options you have when you get a ride share (like quiet, temperature control etc.) and as the story illustrates, you do not always get what you pay for. So what happens with a ride share collides with a taxi on the highway?! Guess you will need to tune in to hear the details. Dan's new dog is so great but there seems to be a language barrier. We hear all about it, how he discovered it and the training plan. This leads us down the path of police dogs and how they are trained, as well as how many languages they speak! It does not seem like a lot on paper but believe you me, it is a lot of content this week. Check out stillspinningpodcast.com to find out how to become a Spinner, buy some sweet merch (the holidays ARE coming) and listen to back episodes. Have a great week, everyone!…
Hello everyone and welcome to episode #76 of the Still Spinning Podcast. Dan kicks us off with a rant about "today's" music and how much he hates it. While Nicole can relate, it does make us all wonder if everyone of a certain age has the same reaction to these kinds of things. Nicole gives a brief recap on her trip to New Orleans which includes not one but TWO stories about inappropriate touching. Dan is just happy she made it home safe, even though she did not go to the ONE place in the city he asked her to go to (it has to do with Elvis). There is a new movie coming out based on the Broadway hit Wicked, and there is merchandise galore. But Mattel is in some trouble for not fact-checking the movie's website address and instead releasing a line of dolls with a website to a porn production company's site. You can only imagine the uproar! That box has been recalled but is sure to be a collector's item. They are proposing a new building in Manhattan and there are some ISSUES. The building is called Big Bend and you have to see it to believe it. Dan has a first thought about the building that honestly could get him in a lot of trouble. Nicole, along with folks in the chat, thinks it looks like the most terrifying building EVER and would never even think to enter it. And last, in 2024 there are some jobs that are obsolete. Some you would expect, some Nicole and Dan had not really thought about. But they discuss them all! Thanks so much for joining us. Check out our website at stillspinningpodcast.com to find out more and please consider becoming a Spinner so you can get even more content!…
Hello everyone and welcome to episode 75 of the Still Spinning Podcast. On tonight's episode we talk about the end of October which means it is Halloween season! Dan shares his decorating and plan for the big night and Nicole shares a list of the most popular candy. Folks in the chat share their favorite candy as well and we reminisce about the days of razor blades in apples. A few airline stories make the podcast this week. The first is a new process American Airlines is trying out to prevent people from boarding in a group they are not assigned to. Dan and Nicole are all for the literal bells and whistles of this new program. At an airport in New Zealand, there is a crack down on how long people can HUG before they are asked to take it to the parking lot. It is pretty funny. Finally, the holiday season is upon us, and that is the gift of giving, but a story about an ANTI gift list caught our attention, and we chatted about it. Oh and also Dan has a new dog! We meet Charlie and get some real good pets. Thanks so much for checking us out. You can learn more at our website stillspinningpodcast.com . Next week's show is TBD as Nicole will be out of town, so watch our Facebook page to find out when we will be back on the air for the regular episode. Spinners will be getting some bonus content later this week.…
Episode 72: "Deodorant Drama, Redbox Woes, and Wedding Whoops" - Still Spinning Podcast with Dan and Nicole (Editors note: Nicole was "too tired" to write the summary for this week so she pawned it off on Dan. Dan knows Nicole is terrified of AI, so he used AI to write this summary.) This week on the "Still Spinning Podcast," hosts Dan and Nicole kick things off with a light-hearted jab at Dan for single-handedly canceling their much-loved bonus spin segment. What went wrong? Only Dan knows, but he's not telling! The episode takes an unexpected turn when Nicole recounts her bizarre discovery at Target: clearance deodorant with an aroma so unique, it's practically daring you to wear it. What scent could possibly be the last thing you'd want near your armpits? Tune in to discover this olfactory oddity! Next, they dive into the surprising financial fallout of Redbox's bankruptcy. How much is this affecting the small businesses and shop owners who host these iconic DVD rental machines? Dan and Nicole break it down, exploring the ripple effects on local economies. Wrapping up, they share a story that's sure to resonate with anyone who's ever received a wedding invitation. Imagine thinking you're attending the ceremony only to realize you're just there for the party. A couple's mishap with invitation clarity provides a lesson in wedding etiquette and expectations. Additional Notes: For more in-depth stories, behind-the-scenes content, or to join the "Spinner" community, visit stillspinningpodcast.com . Stay tuned for next week's episode where Dan promises to make up for his bonus spin blunder, plus more surprising tales and discussions that keep you spinning with laughter and intrigue. Join Dan and Nicole for another round of chuckles, surprises, and life's little quirks on "Still Spinning Podcast"!…
