Conor O'Keefe has not had a stereotypically normal football career so far. After coming through the ranks at Macclesfield Town, he left the professional game to go to college at Loughborough University. This started a chain of events that led him to playing for a year in Spain, in Gibraltar after his studies and where he finds himself now, in the 3rd tier of Swedish football with Piteå IF.
We asked him about what led him on this journey, some of the challenges of pursuing a dream career at this level and why he thinks more British footballers don't take the plunge of playing further abroad. We also spoke about what inspired him to start his highly popular YouTube channel "Keeping Goals" and how he balances his professional commitments with being a social media presence.
