A response to Joe Rogan and Wes Huff: Can we believe the Bible? – Bonus episode
Manage episode 461411642 series 3532627
What did Joe Rogan and Wesley Huff say about the Bible? Can we really believe in the credibility of the Bible?
In this bonus episode of The Rooted Podcast, we're joined by Dr Andrew Ollerton, head of Bible Engagement at Bible Society, to discuss the recent increase of interest in the Bible sparked by Wesley Huff's appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. We look at the credibility of the Bible and ancient manuscripts, the role of translators and the formation of the canon. We finish by discussing contrasting creation stories, why the Christian creation story provides a greater hope and the Bible as a coherent narrative pointing to Jesus.
The conversation is a response to Wes Huff and Joe Rogan talking about these themes in depth recently and highlights the relevance of these topics and the Bible in current discussions.
