Today is the day! It’s the 31st of May of an even year and we all know what that means…it’s real estate license renewal day! Today is the day that all realtors in the state of Pennsylvania who want to continue practicing real estate must renew their license by and if they don’t, they are no longer legally allowed to practice real estate! So, today, we thought it would be the perfect day to talk about what is required of a realtor to renew their license! TALKING POINTS (3-5):

• Introduction
• How often do you have to renew your license and what all is involved with the license renewal process:
  • Renew every 2 years
    • May 31st of the even years
  • Continuing education
    • 14 hours
  • License Renewal (with fee)
• Two different types of continuing education requirements:
  • NEW AGENTS:
    • New Agent General Module (7-hours)
    • New Agent Residential OR New Agent Commercial Module (7-hours)
  • VETERAN AGENTS:
    • “Dealer’s Choice!”
    • Ensure that there are no required modules
      • i.e. Responsibilities of Brokers and their Licensees
• How does a realtor renew their license?

• Fun facts about the license renewal process:
  • You cannot renew your salesperson license or AB license before your broker of record renews their license
  • You MUST finish your CE classes before you can renew your license!
  • Continuing education is on the honor system!
  • There is no longer a grace period offered for people late to renew their license
  • Ethics is on a different timeline than CE BUT it can count for CE as well!
