MARK ALFORD: America First (EP 27)

Jillian and I have been looking forward to this episode for months. It all came together on December 28, 2022, as we were thrilled and honored to have Mark Alford in studio for Episode 27 of The Papa Ron Podcast. Back in November, Mark won the election to represent the 4th congressional district of Missouri in the United States House of Representatives. He officially takes office on January 3, 2023. That said, we were very fortunate to get about an hour and 20 minutes of his time. We crammed in a lot during that time, discussing when he came to the decision to run for office, the feeling of "swimming upstream" at the end of his employment at WDAF TV, Fox 4, my (Ronnie) frustration with Washington D.C. "Swamp" (Republicans and Democrats), Mark's approach to uniting the country with a "American First" mentality and we finish up with a deep conversation about an old friend and very popular former Fox 4 TV meteorologist, the late Don Harmon...who took his own life 11 years ago. Although this chat flew by quickly, we really enjoyed everything discussed and look forward to Mark coming back to join us in studio one year from today to talk about his first year as a United States Representative in Congress.
