Cartoons and animation have recently made a shift to more accurately reflect the world around us. Shows like Steven Universe and She Ra introduce and celebrate more complex examples of identity and gender. While this might be something less new for television shows directed for a more mature audience, the representation for a younger and more easily influenced demographic is quite progressive.

In this episode, we reflect on the cartoons of our youth in comparison to this new generation of more inclusive content.
