In addition to mindfulness we need clear comprehension which gives us the true context for whatever we experience. Examples, such as the desire for world peace and the pursuit of concentrated states are given to demonstrate how the presence or absence of clear comprehension affects our practice. In discussing what aids development, Paul stresses the role of the teacher. The talk ends with the analogy of the sun behind clouds to help clarify that enlightenment is not a future goal.
