Episode 201- Revisiting Contradictions in the Bible with Dr. Eric Smith
Manage episode 427146741 series 3392705
After Ralph's study on the argued contradictions in the Bible, Tiziana decided to invite her professor, Dr. Eric Smith to come on the show and discuss the topic. Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor of Early Christian Text and Tradition at Iliff School of Theology in Denver Colorado. Originally from right here in North Carolina, he received his bachelors from Mars Hill University, and his Masters of Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University, and Ph.D from Iliff and the University of Denver. His research and teaching center on a constellation of interests in the world of late antiquity, including identity formation, material culture and materialist approaches to religion, and both ancient and modern interpretations of biblical texts. We make some corrections to the previous episode and go further what scholarship calls the disputed and undisputed Pauline texts, etc. It's a fascinating and challenging conversation!
