Manage episode 380310081 series 3435438
This week we go back in time with Essendon premiership player David Calthorpe. David reminisces about his career, reflects on some of his favourite moments and people in the game. David played with three clubs during his nine year career in the AFL. David's first opportunity came with the Essendon Football Club, where he debuted in 1992 and the next season was a part of the famous Baby Bombers that won the 1993 premiership. During his seven seasons at Windy Hill, David played 92 games and kicked 58 goals. He then joined the Brisbane Lions for one year in 1999 before returning to Victoria and finishing his AFL career with North Melbourne.
In this episode, David talks about the famous Baby Bombers season, winning the EJ Whitten Medal, the privilege he had playing with one of the competition powerhouses, Kevin Sheedy, the circumstances that see him transfer to Brisbane and why he finished his career back in Victoria.
A great listen with the seventy-fourth member of 'The 90's Club Footy Podcast'.
