The Brazen Bull was a hollow brass bull allegedly used by King Phalaris to torture his subjects in the most sadistic imaginable way. A victim was placed in the bull while a fire was lit beneath it, roasting them alive. Their cries and screams mimicked the sound of the bull as they resonated in the horns and whistles inside.
