Since relocating to Austin in 2021, Elon Musk has embraced his new home in almost every respect. He’s opened a new factory and a rocket launch site, started wearing hats and cowboy boots, and gotten into pickup trucks. He’s building his own town, a Texas “utopia” outside of Austin, and what he says will be a new university dedicated to fighting all things woke. He’s buddied up with Governor Greg Abbott, Joe Rogan, and even undergone a Texas-inflected evolution on the fossil fuel industry. But what is the impact and meaning of Elon adopting TX?
