Broken into three categories, the purpose of holy relics is to call our attention to the saints, to the lives they lived, and to remind us that we, too, should live as the saints did; with the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity, and the cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude.
