Cities worldwide are revolutionizing waste management, reshaping their streets into cleaner, quieter, and safer spaces. Today, we dive deep into how urban neighborhoods, hospitals, and high-rises are rethinking trash collection, going underground to cut carbon, lower costs, boost recycling, strengthen resilience, and enrich the quality of life for residents on the streets above.

Joining Josh is Joakim Karlsson, CEO of Envac, the Swedish company that invented underground automated waste collection systems in the 1960s. Using pneumatic technology to shoot trash through a network of underground pipes at speeds of over 40 mph, Envac has installed systems beneath cities worldwide, from Barcelona, Bergen, and Beijing to Seoul, Singapore, and Stockholm.

Now, Envac is on a mission to take trash not just to a new level but to a whole new dimension.
